Roll On

I love that little blue Kelowna book. Love it. It's full of maps, hints about where to eat and places to have a great time searching for your golf ball. (Well, some of us have to search.) I love it because it helps me recalibrate my perspective. Helps solidify what I am looking for. (There are two Hollywood Roads in Kelowna... brother.)

You see sometimes I can get stuck hard and fast on my perspective, and it just isn't the right one. I need to recalibrate.

There's another book that I love looking at for a perspective adjustment. Except it doesn't so much have street maps as it does soul maps. It has words like "trust", "commit" and "be still". It inspires, commands, laments, encourages, tells stories of tragedy, failure and hope. It renews our focus on God - on who He is and what He can do.

It reminds us to "roll on to God" everything. All that you are and all that you have, little or much. In Luke 12 Jesus tells us not to stress about clothes, food and life in general. "Your father knows that you need them. Instead, strive for his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." (NRSV) Roll on friends.
